Mrs. Elizabeth Janis Jeffers Freels, age 82 of Wartburg, formerly of Scott County, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mrs. Freels was born October 18, 1930. She was a member of the Annadel Baptist Church in Wartburg and taught school in Morgan County for 36 years. She was the daughter of the late Rev. L. Maynard Jeffers and wife Della Humphrey Jeffers of the Low Gap Community.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Walker, and Mary Helen Walker; one brother, James W. Jeffers and two infant brothers; two sisters-in-law, Iris B. Jeffers and Faye R. Jeffers; one brother-in-law, Stanley Walker.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years: E. Dale Freels of Wartburg, TN; two Daughters: Karen Fritts and husband Brent of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Kathy Stooksbury and husband Gary of Aiken, SC; five grandchildren: Brianne Calvert and husband Jason, Ashley Fritts, Christopher Fritts and wife Heather, Brandon Stooksbury, and Courtney Stooksbury; one brother: Claude E. Jeffers of the Low Gap Community; and one sister: Vivian Bowling and husband Bill of Oneida; (16) Nieces and Nephews and (26) Great Nieces and Nephews and many other family and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday December 29, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 P.M., at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. James Griffith, Rev. Bill Goodman and Rev. David Walker officiating. Graveside services will be Sunday at 11:00 A.M. at the Wartburg City Cemetery, Wartburg, TN
